Explorer Post No. 1

The Wheeling Police Department Explorer Post No. 1 was created in early 2019 and serves as a community outreach tool to educate youth interested in Law Enforcement.

The program is an offset with the Boy Scouts of America’s Explorer Program. The Explorer Post serves as a gateway recruitment tool for the Wheeling Police Department as well as promoting respect for the law.

Wheeling Police Officers give the explorer’s opportunities to observe our function as Law Enforcement officers as well as our responsibilities to the community we serve.

Those interested in the Explorer Program must have graduated from the 8^th grade, currently enrolled in high school or college and be between the ages of 14-21.
