The Recreation Commission consists of ten members who are residents of the City. The members of the Commission are appointed by the Mayor with the advice and approval of Council. Members of the Commission serve without compensation.

The Recreation Commission is an advisory commission and has no administrative or legislative power and authority. As such, the Commission confers, consults and advises with the Recreation Director and City Manager on matters concerning the administration and improvement of the City's Recreation Department. Also, the Commission serves as an advisory commission on recreation matters to Council.
