Keep cool this summer at any of our city pools located at 36th Street in South Wheeling; Garden Park in Warwood; Bridge Park on Wheeling Island; and Grandview Pool in Wheeling Heights. They are a great place to be in the sun, catch a tan, and best of all is the price! $2 for adults, $1 for children (6-12), and kids under 5 get in free!
Opening day is Saturday, June 6th with daily hours of Noon - 6 P.M. Each pool will be closed one day during the week-the schedule is as follows: Wednesday-Sunday (closed Mondays & Tuesdays) for Bridge Park on Wheeling Island, Wednesdays-Mondays (closed Tuesdays) for Grandview Pool in Wheeling Heights, Thursdays-Tuesdays (closed Wednesdays) for 36th Street Pool in South Wheeling, Fridays-Wednesdays (closed Thursdays) for Garden Park Pool in Warwood The city will operate the concession stands and certified lifeguards are always on duty.

New Pool Programming
We are pleased to announce the expansion of our aquatic programming, which now includes several new offerings alongside our most popular programs from previous seasons. This growth has been made possible in part through the award of a Try This Mini Grant, supporting the development of the Wheeling Splash Squad and enhancing our ability to deliver diverse, high-quality programming.
Program Offerings:
Water Walkers for Wellness
A low-impact fitness program designed for seniors and individuals seeking a gentle yet effective form of exercise. This class supports improved mobility, strength, and overall wellness. This is an 8-week program-starting on June 9th & June 10th respectively:
36th Street Pool – Tuesdays, 11:00 a.m.–12:00 p.m.
Garden Park Pool – Wednesdays, 6:00–7:00 p.m.
Aqua Fitness
A comprehensive, full-body workout with Ashley Wear. This low-impact class is suitable for participants of all fitness levels. Babysitting services will be available for an additional fee. This is an 8-week program-starting on June 18th:
Grandview Pool – Thursdays, 6:00–7:00 p.m.
Senior Swim
Designated swim time exclusively for individuals aged 50 and older, providing a comfortable and accessible aquatic environment. This is an 8-week program-starting the week of June 13th:
Garden Park Pool – Saturdays, 11:00 a.m.–12:00 p.m.
Learn to Swim Program
Instruction is available for all skill levels. The cost is $10 per two-week session. Sessions are open to children ages 3 and up. Each session is scheduled to last for two weeks and runs Monday - Friday. We offer classes from beginners to advanced swimming levels. There will also be pre-school classes for children 3 - 5 years old (a parent must accompany child into the water).The class is 11:00-11:30 am. The pre-school class does not need to attend test. The classes are taught by qualified Red Cross Water Safety Instructors and lifeguards.

Water Yoga
A restorative yoga program conducted in a water-based setting, promoting relaxation and balance.

Storytime at the Pool
Join us for Story Time with Mr. B at the pool! Join Mr. B for fun, engaging stories that spark imagination and build a love of reading! With lively storytelling and a warm, welcoming style, Storytime with Mr. B makes every book an adventure for kids and families alike. It is Mondays is 1:30 pm at a different pool each week. The Recreation Department will again offer Season Swim Passes.

Pool Party Information
-Rental Fee-$120 which includes two lifeguards on duty (if you have more than 50 people-a third lifeguard is required with an additional fee of $40)
-Pools are available to rent from 6:30-8:30 pm on Fridays or Saturdays evenings.
-Everyone must leave the premises by 8:45 pm at the very latest.-All pool rules must be followed. Please read and follow any posted signage to include those related to safety precautions and expected behavior that needs to be followed. Guest safety in the water and outside the water is our number one priority. Staff has the right to address any infractions of the rules. Depending on the severity of the action or their unwillingness to comply, our staff has the right to ask those patrons to leave the facility immediately.
Pool Rules
Admittance: At all times, children 13 and under will not be permitted to enter the pool unless they are accompanied by a parent or other responsible person of the age of 16 years or older.
Dress Code: Swim attire must be appropriate for a family environment. Inappropriate swim attire, swim attire with buckles, rivets, zippers or exposed metal, and other sharp objects are not alowed. For safety, diaper-age children must wear plastic pants or swim diapers in pool areas.
Behavior Safety Rules: We have a zero tolerance for fighting or bullying-you will be banned from the pool. No profanity, threatening language or actions. No begging for money.
General Safety Rules: No running on pool deck. No horseplay. No floats, innertubes, balls, or diving objects permitted in pool. One person on diving board at a time-dive straight out. No dunking or roughhousing in the pool or pool area. No pretend drowning. Do not hang on life line. No climbing on lifeguard chair or the splashpad structure. No diving in shallow end. When the whistle is blown to clear the pool, NO ONE can re enter the water until the lifeguard allows. No glass objects permitted in the pool, pool area, or bathhouse. No alcohol, drugs, or weapons of any kind are permitted in the pool, pool area, or bathhouse. No congregating near entrance or around the fence of the pool.
Decisions of all conduct will be handled by City of Wheeling Pool Employees. If you cannot abide by the rules, you will need to leave the premises.
