The City of Wheeling will host a Spring Cleanup beginning later this month, providing residents with a convenient opportunity to dispose of unwanted household items and help keep neighborhoods clean, safe and attractive heading into the warmer weather seasons.

This cleanup initiative supports community beautification efforts throughout Wheeling by offering multiple dumpster locations across the City. The program is open to all residents living within Wheeling city limits. Please note this is NOT an Ohio County Solid Waste Authority-sponsored event. Dumpsters will be available at designated locations from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. on scheduled dates listed below. Citizens may use any site regardless of neighborhood location. However, proof of residency will be required.

This program is intended for residential use only and is not available for businesses or industrial disposal. All items must be landfill appropriate. Tires and hazardous waste items such as paints and chemicals will not be accepted. Questions regarding those items should be directed to the Ohio County Solid Waste Authority at (304) 234-3884.

The 2026 Spring Cleanup Schedule is as follows:

• March 20 - Garden Park, 1301 Richland Avenue, Warwood
• March 27 - Former Valley Concrete, 3401 Market Street, South Wheeling
• April 10 - Former Dog Pound, Industrial Drive & Peninsula Street, Fulton
• April 17 - Former Wheeling-Penn Closure, 19th Street, East Wheeling
• April 24 - Pleasanton Playground, 1092 Currie Drive, Pleasanton
• May 1 - Patterson Ballfield, 50 Patterson Avenue, Elm Grove
• May 8 - Belle Isle Park, 778 N. Front Street, Wheeling Island

The City encourages residents to take advantage of this program to responsibly dispose of items and contribute to maintaining clean and vibrant neighborhoods throughout Wheeling.
