Around 11:45 a.m. on Wednesday, January 7, the Wheeling Police Department was called to the area of 42nd and McColloch Streets in South Wheeling following a report of human remains being found. Detectives responded to the scene, confirmed the remains, and located additional bones in the area. The department will continue its investigation and work with the West Virginia Medical Examiner’s Office to identify the remains.
