The City of Wheeling’s Parks & Recreation Department will be collecting cleaning supplies and other essential items during this week’s Waterfront Wednesday concert to support those affected by last week’s devastating flooding.
Concertgoers attending the June 25 performance by Eli Lambie and the Mojo Kings at Heritage Port are encouraged to bring donations of cleaning supplies, personal hygiene items and other household essentials. Clothing is not needed at this time. All donated items will be delivered to the distribution center currently operating at Wheeling University.
“Our community has shown incredible resilience and generosity in the wake of the recent flooding,” said Director of Parks & Recreation Rochelle Barry. “We hope this supply drive will give folks an easy way to lend a hand while enjoying a great evening of live music.”
The Waterfront Wednesday concert begins at 7 p.m. and is free and open to the public. Donation collection will be located near the entrance of the event space.
