Break out your leather jackets and poodle skirts — it’s time to hand-jive the night away as the City of Wheeling is hosting a free screening of the iconic movie Grease on Friday, June 13 at Heritage Port. The film will begin at dusk.
“This is a great opportunity to enjoy a nostalgic favorite with friends and family in a great outdoor setting,” said Parks & Recreation Director Rochelle Barry. “We encourage everyone to come early, grab a good spot and enjoy a fun summer night in downtown Wheeling.”
Set in the 1950s, Grease tells the story of wholesome exchange student Sandy Olsson and bad-boy greaser Danny Zuko, whose summer romance is put to the test when they unexpectedly reunite at Rydell High. Packed with high-energy musical numbers, unforgettable characters and iconic performances by John Travolta and Olivia Newton-John, Grease remains one of the most popular musical films of all time.
The film is rated PG, making it a family-friendly option, though parental guidance is suggested for younger viewers due to some language and themes. Admission is free.
