Wheeling Gearing Up for Small Business Saturday - Free Parking-Shuttle-Ice Skating

Small Business Saturday – Nov. 30 – is upon us and Wheeling’s local businesses are ready to shine. Shoppers are invited to support the community by visiting local stores, restaurants and attractions, all while enjoying special events and perks designed to make the day even more festive.

In addition to showcasing what Wheeling’s small businesses have to offer, the City of Wheeling is bringing back its popular synthetic ice rink at the Plaza on Market,1055 Market St. From 1 to 5 p.m., the public can skate free of charge, with ice skates available for use. This annual tradition adds a fun, wintry touch to the day’s festivities.

To make visiting downtown Wheeling even more convenient, the City will offer free parking at the Intermodal Transportation Center, 1401 Main St., until 4 p.m. Shoppers can take advantage of a free trolley shuttle, sponsored by OVRTA, running from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. The trolley will make stops at Centre Market, The Plaza on Market and the Wheeling Artisan Center every 20-30 minutes, providing a seamless way to explore all that Wheeling has to offer.

The trolley schedule is as follows:

  • Centre Market: 10 a.m., 10:30 a.m., 11 a.m., 11:30 a.m., noon, 12:30 p.m., 1 p.m., 1:30 p.m., 2:30 p.m., 3 p.m., 3:30 p.m., 4 p.m., 4:30 p.m. and 5 p.m.
  • The Plaza on Market: 10:10 a.m., 10:40 a.m., 11:10 a.m., 11:40 a.m., 12:10 p.m., 12:40 p.m., 1:10 p.m., 1:40 p.m., 2:40 p.m., 3:10 p.m., 3:40 p.m., 4:10 p.m., and 4:40 p.m.
  • Wheeling Artisan Center: 10:20 a.m., 10:50 a.m., 11:20 a.m., 11:50 a.m., 12:20 p.m., 12:50 p.m., 1:20 p.m., 1:50 p.m., 2:50 p.m., 3:20 p.m., 3:50 p.m., 4:20 p.m. and 4:50 p.m.
