Riverfront movie night Rescheduled due to inclement weather

Wheeling, WV ? The City of Wheeling announced today that the first Riverfront Movie Night will be rescheduled for later in the season due to inclement weather.

With the unstable weather patterns that are expected to continue throughout Friday evening, Kung Fu Panda will be shown on Friday, August 21, 2009.

The major appeal to the movie nights is the ambience of being outside under the stars and near the river.  The City of Wheeling wants to make these events as enjoyable as possible for everyone and believes that movie goers will appreciate watching the movie outdoors when the weather improves.

The next movie night, scheduled for Friday, June 26th, is Hotel For Dogs.

The dates for the Riverfront Movie Nights are:

Friday, June 26th: Hotel For Dogs (PG)

Friday, July 10th: Star Wars: The Clone Wars (PG): Note: Audience participation is encouraged this year, so adults and children alike are encouraged to come dressed as their favorite Star Wars character, wear your storm trooper costume, dress like Chewbacca or just bring Star Wars stuff.  Experience the movie in a whole new way by being the character!

Friday, July 17th: Journey To The Center of the Earth ? in 3D! (PG)
Friday, August 14th: Iron Man (PG-13)
Friday, August 21st: Kung Fu Panda (PG)

Riverfront Movie Nights are FREE and start at dusk (approximately 9:00 pm) at Heritage Port.  The rules for these events are no alcohol, no smoking, and no pets.  Folding chairs will be permitted in the grass area.  In case of inclement weather, the movie nights may be moved inside to WesBanco Arena pending arena availability.
