A Message From Mayor Andy McKenzie

Welcome to the City of Wheeling, and thank you for visiting our website!

This is an exciting time in Wheeling with many development projects in progress to invigorate and revitalize our great city.

Our unique architecture, deep history, and unparalleled love for the arts and music make this a truly amazing place.

Much like our neighboring cities, Wheeling is shifting from an industrial-based economy to a creative-class economy, and we remain committed to moving forward with progress and innovation.
I am committed to advancing the natural, cultural, creative, and intellectual strengths of Wheeling and transforming those characteristics into sustainable and positive developments that will benefit our residents for many generations.
From the ongoing redevelopment of our waterfront and downtown to our many cultural institutions and flourishing business climate; to our metropolitan architecture and an artistic community that continues to inspire and excite; to an extensive university and college system and our nationally-ranked hospitals, the energy of this city is contagious.

Wheeling is your place, and we’re so glad you’re here.

Warmest Regards,
Andy McKenzie, Mayor
