The Planning Commission consists of not less than five nor more than fifteen residents of the City who are qualified by knowledge or experience in matters pertaining to the development of the City, and shall include representatives of business, industry and labor. All members are nominated by the City Manager and confirmed by Council. Members of the Commission serve without compensation.

The Planning Commission is responsible for reviewing and recommending to Council land use and development in the City. The regular meeting of the Commission shall be held on the second Monday of every month in the City Council Chambers at 5:00 p.m. When the regular meeting day falls on a legal holiday, the meeting shall be held the following Monday.
