National Bowling Week

August 01, 2010 - All Day

 

Elm Grove Lanes Hosts National Bowling Week Celebration! 

 
National Bowling Week starts Sat., July 31 with the First Annual Parking Lot Bowling Tournament to Benefit the Betty Jo Baker Youth Scholarship at Elm Grove Lanes.  Entry fee is $10, with half going to the scholarship.  More info at (304) 242-5800.
 
Here are some FREE activities going on that week:
 
Sun., Aug 1 -- 1950’s & ’60’s scok hop -- FREE bowling if in 1950’s & ’60 costume/clothing from 12 noon to 9 pm
 
Mon., Aug 2 -- Triathalon event (lazer tag, mini-golf & bowling) -- free entry for 1st game in each category -- customers are given a tally sheet to have each event noted and authorized from 12 noon to 9 pm
 
Tues, Aug 3 -- FREE mini-golf and hot dogs at Foggy Bottom from 5 pm to 9 pm
 
Wed., Aug 4 -- EXTREME bowling conditions -- (yes, school passes will be accepted) regular prices in effect
 
Thurs., Aug 5 - COSTUME day -- wear a 2-piece costume with make-up and receive a FREE wristband for the day (wristband includes lazer tag, mini-golf, inflatable playground & bowling with shoe rental) from 12 noon to 9 pm
 
Fri., Aug 6 - Luau Bowling Party -- 9 pm to midnight -- $17.00 per person -- includes buffet and extreme bowling
 
Sat., Aug 7 - FREE bowling all day with a kiddie carnival from 1 pm to 4 pm (carnival games like duck pond, ring toss, bean bag toss, etc.)  all free with child’s registration of name, birthdate, address, phone & email.  This is "Break the World Record" for number of games bowled in a 24-hour period.  All participants receive certificate of participation.
 
Also, we have several things that will be going on all week:  some history displays, facebook sign-ups, trivia contest, coloring contests (which is already underway), silly bowling for kids, free coaching, "Beat the Managers’ Scores" contest on a daily basis, scavenger hunt, and 2010-2011 league season information.
